Online electrical work safety training for instructed persons

This training is designed for people who are not electrical professionals but may work near electrical equipment or live parts as part of their duties.

An ordinary person becomes an instructed person after receiving sufficient task-specific and workplace-specific instruction from qualified electrical professionals. This instruction helps them recognise electrical hazards and work safely in their assigned tasks.

This training supports the employer’s instruction programme by covering the general SFS 6002:2025 electrical safety training required for instructed persons. Workplace-specific instruction, competence verification, and documentation must be completed separately by the employer.

What do you learn in this course?

This course provides the general electrical safety knowledge required for instructed persons under the SFS 6002:2025 standard. You will learn how to recognise electrical hazards, work safely near electrical equipment and understand the scope and limitations of an instructed person's duties.

The training also helps you identify situations where work can be carried out safely by an instructed person and when it must be left to qualified electrical professionals.

Why is this training important?

Electrical hazards may be present even in workplaces where employees do not carry out electrical work themselves. Anyone working near electrical equipment must understand the risks and know how to work safely.

This course helps employers ensure that instructed persons have the general electrical safety knowledge required for their role.
