About the Electrical Work Safety Training
The Safety at Electrical Work – Grid and Electricity Networks online course is designed for electrical professionals who work in medium- and high-voltage substations, transformer stations, and electricity transmission networks.
The training covers the general principles of electrical work safety as well as the specific safety requirements for demanding work in grid and network environments. You will learn how to plan and carry out work safely in environments where electrical hazards may be significant and where safe working methods, clear responsibilities, and correct procedures are essential.
Why Electrical Work Safety Training Is Important
Electrical work in substations and electricity networks involves hazards that require a high level of competence, planning, and safety awareness. Work may involve demanding disconnection and connection tasks, proximity to live parts, and environments where incorrect procedures can lead to serious injury, equipment damage, or operational disruption.
The EN 50110 and SFS 6002:2025 standards define the requirements for the safe operation of electrical installations and electrical work. This course helps employers ensure that electrical professionals working in substations and on electricity networks have the safety knowledge required for their work.
Learning outcomes
The training begins with the dangers of electricity and how to protect yourself from them. You will learn the basic conditions for safe execution of electrical work, including personal protective equipment (PPE), working conditions, competence requirements, responsibilities, and safe operating procedures.
After completing the course, you will understand the key safety requirements for work in substations and electricity networks and know how to apply safe working practices in complex electrical work environments.
