Content and objectives for first aid in electrical work
The four hour Electrical Emergency First Aid course focuses on electrical accidents and burns caused by electricity. It also covers the treatment of cuts and lacerations, as well as basic CPR for an unconscious person. The course is delivered fully online.
In accordance with the SFS 6002 standard, first aid preparedness must be ensured in electrical work in case of electrical accidents. General requirements for first aid preparedness are defined in the Occupational Safety and Health Act. Everyone involved in electrical work requiring professional competence must have first aid training. This applies not only to professional electricians, but also to supervisors, operational managers, and instructed persons.
The course is intended for people who carry out electrical work as part of their job. Participation does not require prior first aid knowledge. First aid preparedness and CPR skills must be maintained, which makes the course also suitable as a refresher.
